Blur back on 45

Blur are set to release a surprise new single, their first for seven years.  They have already recorded the new material, two new songs, in between Albarn's commitments with his other group Gorillaz, and will release the 1000 limited issue single for Record Store Day on the 17th of April.
The group reunited in 2009 for a series of large summer festival shows, but also took the time to appear at Rough Trade East record shop.  Other than their 2010 documentary, No Distance Left To Run, it was thought the group would not be putting their name to any new releases.  The as yet unnamed single, their first since "Good Song" in 2003 is one of a series of limited issue material to be released on 7" for Record Store Day.  Material by artists including Paul Weller, Elvis Costello, Pet Shop Boys, Lily Allen, Jimi Hendrix, Nick Cave, Babyshambles and the Beatles will also be released as limited edition 7" singles to support the event on the 17th of April.
