Gary Numan to play one off show

Leading up to his performance at Coachella, the American festival on 18 April, Numan will be playing a very anticipated one off gig at Scala in Kings Cross, London on the 13th of April. Numan has been working on his new album Dead Son Rising which is to be released later in 2010.

Born and raised in Hammersmith, West London, Numan and his band Tubeway Army got into the punk scene a little late but they were the first 'punks' to use synthesizers, changing the sound of electronic music.

From West London to Barcelona...

The perennially cool Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona has a distinctly west London flavor in 2010.

The Slits take to the stage on the 27th May with their new multi-generational lineup featuring orginal members Ari Up and Tessa Polit together with newcomers Anna Schulte, NO, and Hollie Cook, the daughter of Sex Pistols drummer Paul Cook. Their 2009 album Trapped Animal garnered mixed reviews, but as a live proposition they are apparently still a stunning experience.

Fresh from the BBC's hugely sucessful 80's inspired 6 Music Live sessions, and a performance with Little Boots, synth-legend Gary Numan has added a date at Primavera to his tour. Taking to the stage on the 29th of May, his performace will follow his one off London show at the Scala, as well as appearances at Coachella festival and San Francisco in the U.S.A and Porto, Portugal.

Will you be attending any of the performances?

Originally released in 1979 by Rough Trade the Raincoats debut album was remastered and re-released in November 2009. It's been 30years since they emerged from the musically fertile West London squat scene that also produced the The Clash. Since then they've seen a mid 90's resurgence of interest, facilitatied by Kurt Cobain (who claimed their music cheered him up!) and now ATP and Don't Look Back have got together to present a live performance of their first album in it's entirety.

Tickets for the one-off show at the London Scala on the 20th of May 2010 are on sale now.
